The OpVista CX8 is the premier Optical Networking System (ONS) for service providers worldwide to optimize metro and regional optical networks for the delivery of bandwidth intensive services for homes and businesses. The system is designed to efficiently expand 10G engineered fiber networks to 40G and 100G channels. In addition, to the delivering industry leading service fiber capacity, the OpVista CX8 features a comprehensive set of service-enabling and management capabilities. The system utilizes technological innovations enhancing increases in fiber capacity, packet aggregation and optical add/drop multiplexing to allow service providers to efficiently and cost effectively deliver high definition video, video on demand, high speed data and business broadband services. Several client interfaces are supported from 50 Mb/s to 100 Gb/s that give services the ability to provision and manage service revenue with ease.

The OpVista CX8 is the first optical networking system to be based on the company's Dense Multi-Carrier (DMC) technology. DMC technology, allows OpVista CX8 ONS to deliver a universal networking solution that incrementally increase the service capacity of today's 10G optical network infrastructure up to 8 terabits/sec per fiber. DMC technology enabled wavelengths look like 10G, behave like 10G; but delivers the bandwidth boost of 40G and 100G channels. DMC technology optimizes 40G and 100G wavelengths to increase the transport service capacity of new and existing 10G engineered networks without the need to re-engineer the network as demand for bandwidth grows.
The next key innovation is optimized wavelength utilization management that enables service providers to efficiently manage the services transported within the network. This is accomplished with wavelength packet aggregation capability that allows services to be groomed on to the wavelength to utilize the efficiently haul the services to their destination in the network.
In addition, to managing the service packets the OpVista CX8 independently manages the physical wavelengths utilizing an integrated Flexible Reconfigurable OADM with any to any connectivity. The integrated flexible ROADM capability allows service providers to optimize their networks by matching their optical networks to take advantage of service traffic patterns that develop in the metro/aggregation and regional networks. This capability allows service providers to flexibly route network add/drop traffic at any node. OpVista's ROADM capability is uniquely designed to deliver broadcast, unicast, and multicast video services to anywhere in the network.
The OpVista CX8 networks are managed by the WaveMaster element management system which is used to operate, provision, monitor, and manage all aspects of service delivery.
