OpVista leverages patented Microwave Photonics (MP) technology to enable service providers' to increases service carrying capacity of their optical transport networks without the need to re-engineer the network infrastructure.

When applied to the OpVista2000 optical transport system, our patented MP technology enabled wavelength starts with a single 100 GHz spaced optical carrier (10G) and modulates it with four phase-locked RF carriers spaced at approximately 12.5GHz. The result of this modulation is a spectral output that is the original optical carrier with two upper and two lower optical sidebands. This provides four optical carriers which occupy less than 50 GHz bandwidth. Taking the OpVista signal input (10G split into four (4) 2.5G wavelengths) and inserting it as a 3rd party wavelength into an existing 2.5G DWDM system provides an instant upgrade to 10G, increasing the network bandwidth by four (4) times without the need to change the existing infrastructure. The OpVista2000 system can deliver up to 640 GbEs high service capacity over 2.5G infrastructure cost effectively.

OpVista MP Technology delivers the following benefits to optical networks:

  • Requires no re-engineering of fiber network infrastructure by ensuring compatibility with existing network characteristics.
  • Ensures stability of supply and low cost by leveraging mature, reliable components.
  • Accommodates service providers' requirements for bandwidth-intensive services such as high definition video and video-on-demand by enabling wavelength-by-wavelength scaling.
